About The Soaring Cowgirl
How We Got Here
Leathercraft became a favorite “artistic” outlet of mine at the start of my 4-H years. Growing from a 4th grader’s skills I worked to learn and develop my leathercrafting abilities until I graduated high school in 2013. One year later I joined the Air Force Reserves at the age of nineteen, and became a Crew Chief for C-17 airplanes. I knew little about mechanics and little about what I was getting myself into. Over the years I have struggled with injuries, traveled long hours for drill weekends, completed more college courses than I want to admit to, all to chase a dream. Eight years later I am still in the Reserves as a mechanic, a college student, and working towards commissioning as a pilot. But my love for leathercraft has never left me. Over the years since graduation I have found little time, but have always created projects when I was needing an artistic outlet.
So, here we are. As I continue on both of these paths, growing and developing both my military and civilian careers. I am welcoming all of those who wish to follow me on my adventure towards becoming a pilot and growing my leathercraft business. Reading about the bumps along the way!
